I am really excited to report that we will be building a new Canteen during 2022. We have been successful in our application for a BGA (Block Grant Authority) Grant which will subsidise the cost of construction.
Our current canteen has served us well for years but has now become tired, inefficient and struggles to cope with demand. In our Building Masterplan, we have identified the need for a new canteen as a priority for a number of reasons.
Our students deserve a facility that better meets their needs and the needs of the College. The canteen should not only serve food but should provide a social and dining setting which reinforces our sense community.
The site of the new canteen will be in the space under the Trade Training Centre. We are consulting with our architect and other experts to ensure we create a bright, open, modern and functional facility which will cope as student numbers increase.
We are also investigating whether we can incorporate external access for our families in the mornings. We would love to provide an opportunity for our families to catch up over a coffee and cake as they start their day (rather than them having to meet at a local coffee shop).
