We are excited to reveal some of our St George College students have been included in the new ‘Celebrate Greek Language and Culture with Lucia and The Wiggles’ project. The Wiggles visited our junior campus in July to film parts of their special Greek cultural video, then we were thrilled to welcome them back last week for the official launch.
It was an incredibly exciting and special occasion for our College community, with several of our very own students featuring in the video! Our students had the opportunity to sing, dance and proudly share their Greek language, culture and traditions alongside Lucia Field, Blue Wiggle, and the rest of The Wiggles.
“Music and movement can make language feel familiar and exciting from a very young age. We’re so proud to be part of a project that helps children discover the joy of the Greek language while celebrating the culture and traditions that are so important to so many Australian families,” said Lucia Field.
We are so proud to see our students representing St George College and celebrating their Greek heritage in such a fun and meaningful way during the filming and launch.
A huge thank you to The Wiggles for sharing this wonderful experience with our students, and to the Hellenic Studies Foundation and the Government of South Australia for funding and supporting this fantastic initiative.
“We are honoured to be a part of this meaningful initiative,” said Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field. “Collaborating with The Foundation has been a joyous experience, and we are excited to contribute to the promotion of Greek language and culture through our work.”
