At St George College we support the development of key Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills to prepare our students to be empowered in a technologically advanced society and productive, responsible digital citizens.

Our students require ICT skills, knowledge and confidence to make ICT work for them at school, home, at work and in their communities. ICT skills are globally recognised as essential to modern learning.

Junior students

Students in the Junior years of Reception to Year 4 use digital devices to develop skills in literacy and numeracy, learn keyboard skills, communication and research. Students will have access to a dedicated learning space with Mac desktop computers. A bank of devices will also be available for in-class use.

Middle and Senior students

Students in Years 5 to 12 use devices to collaborate, research, problem solve, develop and create multimedia presentations, create art or music, use the school intranet and Daymap to access class materials and upload assessments. Students will be part of the ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) Program and will need to start the year with their own device.

A Microsoft Office 365 license, valued at $150 a year, will be provided free-of-charge for all students for the life of the student’s enrolment at the College. This license includes the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams.

Onsite ICT support is available to students if there are issues regarding internet access, or problems with Microsoft 365 and other school software. Support can be accessed from the helpdesk located in the senior library.

Students are required to abide by the policies outlined in the ICT Acceptable Use Agreement.
